St. Louis Cardinals 11/5 traded 31-year- old Ray Washburn (T), a no-hit pitcher. to the Cincinnati Red for 26-year-old George Culver (B), who also turned in a no-hit performance in the same season. Washburn had a 3-8 record and a 3.07 earned-run average in 132 innings this past season and has his best major league season in 1968 when he had a 14-8 record, pitched four shutouts and had a 2.26 ERA. Culver. Who was on the disabled list with hepatitis from 7/15 to 9/2 this past season, had a 5-7 record and a 4.28 ERA in 101 innings with he Reds. Both are shown in 1965 photos from files.
