Trucks jam the heart of the garment district (35th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue) but there is little other perceptible activity 1/10. Because a majority of the workers in the district cannot get to work due to the transit strike garments are not being manufactured and stores from coast to coast are feeling the impact.
