A Tale of the Winter Sea The American ship Montana, her rudder gone, was sighted recently by the British ship Poland. An imminent peril from the winter sea, a cable was carried to the Montana and though it broke twice, after a fierce struggle the Montana was safe in Halifax. Photo shows at risk of their lives a half dozen men being lowered in a small boat from the Poland to carry the line to the helplessly wallowing Montana.
