The same composition as Dodgson number 254, but carried out in more detail, with all the shadows intensified. Many of the houses are omitted. The bushes are heavily reworked at the place indicated, for the distance of 23 to 31 mm. and again 37 to 48 mm. from the left side of the plate. There is a fresh patch of shadow at the foot of the rock 77 to 90 mm. from the same side. There is heavier shading on a bank above the field in which the horse and two women stand, and the trees rising above the fence on the right of the same field are darkened.
