Mrs. Frieda Edson, attractive 28-year-old divorcee, whose nude body was found in a beauty shop owned by Henry G. Begin, 40-year-old widower. According to a confession by Begin who gave himself up to authorities immediately following the shooting, Mrs. Edson visited his shop and begged him to resume a romance he had broken off with her on New Year's Day. When he refused she laughed scornfully. "Then something seemed to snap in my head," he said, "and I reached into my desk and got my revolver."
