Seeks to wed slayer

Detroit -- Mrs. Mary Schmidt (above), 39-year old widow and mother of three children, asked permission yesterday to marry Bernard Niedzialkowski, twice convicted in the slayings of two previous wives. He is in jail here, awaiting a life prison sentence. Mrs. Schmidt said the parents of the 37-year-old slayer promised a home for her and her children if she marries their son.
