Gallery›Digital Commonwealth — Boston Public Library›Seattle Inventor Perfects New Food Grinding Machine for Making Liquid Diet. Mr. Frank H. Chester, Seattle inventor, is shown above demonstrating to Miss Ruth Chitty, (left) and Miss Josephine Ryan, (right) his new machine for making liquid nourishment out of all kinds of food. The invention, called a "Vitamizer", will pulverize any sort of food placed in the glass container, by the tiny blades that whirl at 20,000 revolutions per minute. By adding a little water of milk, one can drink even a steak, as a liquid diet. Physicians hail the invention as valuable, because with it, one can reduce foods in such a manner that all their nutritive content can be absorbed by digestion. Mr. Chester expects to start manufacturing the machines at a plant here in Seattle.
