Residents of the island of Basse Terre, one of the French West Indies Islands of Guadeloupe, walk the rubble-strewn streets of their town looking at the damage left in the wake of Hurricane Cleo. Cleo, the first hurricane of the season, hit the Guadeloupe Islands 8/22. Now, 8/26, the storm, with more than 100 dead and millions of dollars damage in its wake in the Caribbean, crossed Cuba today and rapidly picked up power on a course that could hit Florida.
