Reservoir Breaks Open--Several hours after it began to leak, a wall of Los Angeles' Baldwin Hills Reservoir gives away (top picture) and then (lower picture) allows surging water to rip a hole completely through the reservoir wall to sending thousands of tons of water cascading through a residential canyon below and out into flatlands of a western Los Angeles residential section. Police said at least six were killed.
