Rescue workers search through the collapsed building in which numerous patients and hospital workers are believed trapped. First reports say that seven patients in the building are dead after the building collapsed during a rolling earthquake that shook the Southern California area early 2/9. Damage from the quake was widespread with reports still coming in as late as six hours after the first shock.
