Rescue workers clear away the debris from Pedro Guevarra elementary School here 4/7 after an earthquake struck the major Philippine island of Luzon. The west wing of the school was reduced to a pile of rubble. At least five persons, most of them teachers were dug out of debris and taken to hospitals and there were fears of others still buried. At least two persons were confirmed dead in Manila and there were unconfirmed reports of eight more deaths in provincial towns.
