School to be named after her

Channelview, Tex.,-- Channelview's planned $3.5 million junior high school will bear the name of Alice Johnson, above, a cleaning woman who has worked for the school district 18 years. "Imagine them naming a school after a broom pusher," she said. "It makes me real proud." Channelview trustees last month unanimously approved the name for the new school, expected to open in about two years.
