A Reminder of Other Days. If you wonder what has become of all the wooden Indians that once stood in front of cigar stores, you will find many of them in the collection being accumulated in his laboratory on Wabash avenue here by Allen Scott Boyer. In the old days, around the turn of the century, when the figures were plentiful, it took an expert woodcarver about a week to produce one. The price ranged from $100 upward. Now, as Americana they are worth they say, their weight in gold. Miss Celia Silska of the Boyer Laboratory is shown with some of Mr. Boyer's collection.
