Relief Star--Bob Shantz (above), Philadelphia Athletics rookie lefthander, today held the Detroit Tigers to one run and two hits in a 10-inning relief performance to give the A's a 5-4 win in 13 innings. Only last Monday Shantz was farmed out to Buffalo of the International League but was recalled the next day when the A's pitching staff suffered a couple of injuries.
