Le réfectoire

In a vaulted room, adorned with a crucifix and lighted by a lamp, four monks are about to have a meal; a servant puts a plate on the table, a fifth monk, his back turned, is reading. The crucifix, the lamp, and servant have been removed; the monk who was turned towards the latter is front view and his hands joined. The area beneath the table has been altered, as has the monk seated reading.
