Immediately after a jury found Mrs. Rose Lucas guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of her highway patrolman husband, Joseph, her son William Lucas, 21, attacked Asst. D.A. Jack Berman in a flurry of fistic blows, requiring inspectors Milton Piro (L) and AL Nelder to subdue him (upper frame). Moments later (lower frame) William and his mother embraced briefly in court-room. Looking on is daughter Mrs. Irene Giusto (R).
