Rookie Pitcher Deprived of Record-- Stu Miller (center), was deprived of his second shutout when Solly Hemus (left) made a little error in the ninth inning to let in the Cincinnati Red’s only run today. Although Hemus was the ninth-inning goat, he was the Cardinals hero a bat. Twice he tripled and twice he scored after being driven in by Red Schoendienst (right). The unearned run scored by the Reds after two were out in the last inning deprived Miller of the honor of trying a record that has not been equalled since 1898, that of pitching a pair of shutouts in his first two Major League games.
