Roger Zane Dedmond (28), shown outside the Greenwood County Court House 2/29, has the appearance of a very happy man after a circuit judge signed an order freeing him from a Union County, S.C., prison camp where he had been serving an 18-year sentence for the slaying of his wife. Union County officers asked for the release of Dedmond on the grounds new evidence shows that he definitely was not the man who killed his wife.
