Roger Dedmond, Nancy Rinehart, Mrs. Nancy Parris

Roger Dedmond (UL), currently serving an 18-year sentence for manslaughter in the slaying of his wife, Lucille (UC), may soon be freed as a result of new evidence indicating his wife was killed by the "Gaffney Strangler." Dedmond was convicted after his wife's nude and strangled body was found on a rural road last May. But last month a Gaffney newspaper editor received a telephone call from a man who said he had killed Mrs. Dedmond and two other women, Nancy Rinehart (UR), 14, and Mrs. Nancy Parris, 20 (LR). The bodies of the latter two were found by police following the caller's directions. Later, Opel Dianne Buckson (LL), 15, was kidnapped and found dead in the woods. Two weeks ago, police arrested Lee Roy Martin, 30, and charged him with the murders.
