Rodney Bacon, a 22-year-old shipping clerk who admitted the ax slaying of his roommate and a woman from next door here early 11/12, watches as a Minneapolis detective removes his handcuffs at Minneapolis Courthouse here 11/12. Detective Inspector Calvin Hawkinson said Bacon told police he had become "upset" when he found the couple using his bed for the second consecutive night. Bacon hit his sleeping roommate, Thomas Rogers, 21, several with the blunt end of the ax, Hawkinson said, and when Dorothy Day, 23, sat up in bed, Bacon hit her with the ax.
