San Juan, P.R.: Hurricane Faith, the sixth tropical storm of the season, veered away from the Caribbean resort islands 8/26, easing the minds of some three million residents who had rushed through emergency preparations against the storm’s furious winds. Faith, packing 90-mile-an-hour winds, shifted its course to the north and appeared headed for open ocean.
