San Francisco State College was closed indefinitely 11/13 after more than a week of violence & disruption. President Robert R. Smith (L) announced the troubled school would be shut down "until such time as we can open it on a more rational basis." He acted after police & students again clashed on campus & the faculty had voted to suspend classes.
