Same Street, But--How Brookline gets its full dollar's worth of snow removal work is excellently illustrated in these two photographs showing Beacon street, Brookline, at the top, and Beacon street, Boston, just over the Brookline boundary, at the bottom. The same traffic passes over the same street in both communities but this important thoroughfare has only one rutted lane for cars in Boston while it is wide open and virtually in normal condition in Brookline.
