Detroit, Mich......Arrested while trying to break into a Detroit store, Robert Lee Hunkins, of Oakwood, Mich., is shown in custody after police announced that he had confessed the murder of Carolyn Drown, 18-year-old Western Michigan College co-ed. The body of Miss Drown was found in a thawing cornfield last December 3 after a week-long search. Police said that the 21-year-old Hunkins, former inmate of a home for the feeble-minded, was questioned about the crime when they found a batch of newspaper clippings about it on his person. He told police that he struck the girl with a wrench after she resisted his advances, after which, he said, he attacked and strangled her.
