The Eero Saarinen Gateway Arch, symbol of the opening of the west, dominates the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial on the Mississippi riverfront at St. Louis. The 630-foot stainless steel inverted catenary curve is the tallest monument in the United States. Unique transporter capsules operate in each leg to carry passengers to a 240 person observations deck in the top of the arch. View includes Busch Memorial Stadium, the old cathedral, the old court house and the mansion house center. The "S.S. Admiral" season - Decoration Day thru Labor Day.
