The procession comes from outside and crosses the nave. The faithful kneel in the passage; at left, in the choir, groups of choir children and priests; one plays the organ, the other the cello. The seated figures in the lower left corner have been considerably darkened by means of additional etched lines. Lines have also been drawn over the robes of these men and of the cellist. The face and hands of the bell ringer have been reworked and both figures considerably darkened. The whole area of the procession has been cleanly wiped in printing to give more lightthan in the third state. The altar boys before the grill on the left have been reworked. In fact the whole foreground has been restudied.
