Two Runs and a Cardinal Victory -- Cardinal Third Baseman George "Whitey" Kurowski trots in home after slamming a home-run hit (dotted line) into the lower left field stands, scoring Walker Cooper and himself for the two runs which beat the Dodgers 2 to 1 in Ebbets Field here today. Cooper and Johnny Hopp wait to give Kurowski the glad hand. The victory brought the Cardinals into a tie with the Dodgers in the National League pennant race.
