Rich Gold Lode Uncovered In Georgia. Dahlonega, Ga.- A close-up of the Bonanza ore taken from the century-old Calhoun mine now yielding the yellow metal assayed at $60,000 per ton. The mine, unworked for many years and thought to have been exhausted, was found to contain a vein of quartz two inches in thickness and of unknown depth, so thoroughly impregnated with gold ore that it appeared as one continuous ribbon of yellow metal. The find is declared to be one of the richest in a number of years. The land is privately owned and thus "staking claims" is impossible.
