The president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Rev. Ralph Abernathy (L) gets a briefing from his North Carolina coordinator, Golden Frinks, during a visit here last night. Abernathy, who was scheduled to lead a protest march in support of local Negroes in their dispute with authorities over school integration, complained of a virus infection and is scheduled to be examined by doctors in nearby Washington, N.C. later today (11/27). Speculation is that Abernathy will return to Atlanta without participating in the march.
