The Rev. Ralph David Abernathy gives a big smile and a wave to the about 150 "Poor People's Campaigners" who waited all night to greet him when he walked out of the District of Columbia jail 7/13. Abernathy was serving a 20-day sentence for illegally demonstrating on Capitol Hill. Abernathy told his followers, "I know my having gone to jail was not in vain."
