The Rev. Ralph D. Abernathy is shown as he addressed some 700 whites and Negroes from the Parkman Bandstand on the Boston Common 5/9. Abernathy said militant groups “will burn down the country” if his poor people’s march on Washington fails. He was in Boston to kick off the Eastern leg of the march from the Boston Common 5/10 morning.
