Los Angeles, Calif... FBI agents today arrested Edgar L. Williams, 22, a musician, and his wife, Veronica, 24, on charges of attempting to extort a hundred-thousand dollars from millionaire contractor John A. Thompson. The suspects were arraigned on extortion charges and held for the federal grand jury under twenty-thousand dollars bond each. The FBI said that the suspects had threatened the lives of three young children of Thompson's recently-slain daughter, Mrs. Norma McCauley, a divorcee. Both suspects vehemently denied participating in an extortion plot.
