Patients from the Veterans Administration Hospital wait to be loaded on busses to be taken to other hospitals in the area as rescue efforts continue at the Hospital which had sections demolished by an earthquake that struck the Southern California area early 2/9. Early reports had eight dead at the hospital and at least seven other deaths throughout the Southern California area.

Copenhagen Lord Mayor Urban Hanson presented a medallion of the Great Seal of his city to Mayor Kevin White yesterday at a luncheon at the Sheraton Plaza Hotel. Hanson spent the day in Boston promoting the Danish capital as a convention site and noting the similarities of interest with Boston.
