Ruppert Rows His Brothers The earnest lad in the center is Jacob Ruppert at the age of four in 1871 with his brothers, George (left) and the late Frank (right). Jacob who grew up to be co. Jacob Ruppert, owner of the New York Yankeed, died in New York Jan. 13. This boat is a photographer's prop, but col. Ruppert had a real boat later, the Twin Screw, 437-ton "Yankee", named for the ball club which brought him fame and fortune.
