Running the Gauntlet -- Violence flared today in Montreal's two-week-old trucking strike as a mass of striking teamsters bombards a truck trying to leave a west-end terminal. Members of the striking International Brotherhood of Teamsters ignored a police escort to attack the truck. Police used tear gas and warning shots to keep order. The teamsters want a 30-cent-an-hour increase over the present rate of $1.55. A conciliation board has recommended 16 cents.
