From "War Memories" catalog: This Secession Hall (as it was called) in Charleston, S.C., was the birth-place of the rebellion, for here it was the first ordinance of Secession was passed. This view shows the ruins of Secession Hall as it appeared when the Union troops took possession of the city. Adjoining the hall is shown the ruins of the Central Church, and in the background is seen St. Phillip's Church.
