Pooch Gets Into the Picket Line-- a Pooch named Coco get into the picket line at South Gate, Calif. as members of Building Service Local 399, AFL-CIO, picket an animal shelter of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Coco is owned by Max Richardson, a member of the local, which claims the SPCA is unfair to humans. The union and SPCA are in a dispute over union recognition. The SPCA says it is a non-profit, charitable organization and will not recognize or negotiate a contract with the local.
