A Polio Record?--The children of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thiel of Mapleton may have set a family record this year when 11 of 14 of them came down with polio. Of the 12 children living at the Thiel farm home, only one, Arlene, 17, failed to contract the disease. Thiel holds his youngest son, Ronnie, 3. Others in the back row (left to right) are Mrs. Thiel, Catherine, Arlene and Ina Mae. In the middle row (left to right) are Harold, Jean and Marcella. In the front row (left to right) are Jerry, Francis and Tom. Two others, Bob en Lawrence, are still hospitalized.
