Polio Patient a Month Old--Elizabeth Ryg, a polio patient here, was a month old today. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arden Ryg of Rake, Ia., is pictured getting her bottled birthday dinner from Mrs. Ruth Swain, head nurse. The baby entered the hospital Sept. 7- a polio victim when only 13 days old. Now out of the special baby respirator (left) where she was kept two weeks, Elizabeth is reported getting along "just fine."
