Police candidate fails agility test

Karen Rucker, an aspiring woman police officer, tries to scale a six-foot fence after running an obstacle course while competing Friday on an equal basis with men for admittance to the Los Angeles Police Academy. She couldn't make it over the top, then walked away. Officials said those who failed any of a variety of agility tests would have an opportunity to try again.
