Plans to Continue King's Work The Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, shown after he concluded a short memorial service for the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Memphis on Friday, plans to continue the work of the slain Negro civil rights leader. Abernathy assumed the duties of president of Southern Christian Leadership Conference after King died.
