Pierre Residents Leave Homes Behind as Flood Waters Threaten:- Raymond Hinsey of the Pierre Water Rescue Squad (left) helps Leo Schiebel into a rescue boat with some of his household belongings. With the flood waters rising at a rate beyond which U.S. Corps of Engineers predicted, all residents were checked by the rescue squads. The Fire Department equipment also was evacuated to higher ground.
