Pickets At Lawrence Textile Mill – Pickets walk in front of the Ayer mill in Lawrence, part of the American Woolen company, after its 2800 employees went on strike seeking a 15-cents-an-hour wage boost. Strike was called by the Textile Workers Union of America (CIO) and is the first industry-wide stoppage in the 11-year history of the union.
