Picketless Picket Line at Woods Hole The pickets or strikers that carried these signs at entrance to the State Pier and dock of the New Bedford, Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority in Woods Hole, Mass., were carried off by the spring weather and were fast asleep in nearby autos when this picture was made (April 22nd). The steamship company has been on strike for the past week and small fishing craft have taken over the task of carrying passengers and cargo to nearby Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island.
