Al Schacht, the Clown Prince of Baseball, who has written the story of his life in a new book called "My Own Particular Screwball," which Doubleday will publish on March 24. In his memoirs Schacht, restauranteur turned raconteur, tells his own story from his beginnings in the Bronx, through his days in baseball (especially with the Washington Senators) down to his present position as owner of one of New York's leading restaurants. Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker, Hans Wagner and Lou Gehrig are among the many baseball immortals who move through pages of this book.
