In the drought belt where sidewalks are stove[s]- With the mercury registering 115 degrees at Pierre, S.D. July 20, here was the scene as an iron basement door on the sidewalk was converted into a skillet. Al Hildebrandt fried eggs and turned them over to do a good job. Further more the eggs were eaten. Some ready customers with bread ready for sandwiches are shown seated about the stove. Pierre like all of the Midwest, has been baked to a dark brown by the high temperatures and dry weather.
