"Widow's Walks" date from the old Cape Cod sailing vessel days when the wives of sea-faring men watched for their loved ones to return, Sometimes a husband, whose ship was lost at sea, would never return, but the widow continued to watch faithfully for the phantom ship that never came. There are only a few "Widow's Walks" left on Cape Cod.
