Owner Battles to Save Boat From Ice- Chris Hagen, balancing precariously on the frame of his stern-wheeled houseboat, seeks to save it from the fate of another, background, moving downstream in the ice-choked Mississippi river here. Ice floes piled up behind the Ford dam yesterday to push out onto the banks of the glacier-like river and sweep away the stored craft. Firemen worked through the night to secure two large barges, ripped from their moorings by the ice mass.
