Alcide Froidevaux, who ekes out a living selling hamburgers on the highway near San Francisco, has revealed that his daughter is Hazel Forbes, the present Mrs. Harry Richman. The seller of hamburgers said that his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Froidevaux, had left him in South Dakota in 1911, taking with her the baby that grew up to win fame as an international beauty. In rebuttal, Mrs. Froidevaux claimed: "We fled from starvation. We had to go," referring to her alleged desertion of Froidevaux in 1911.
