Cupertino, Calif., Dec. 1--Mrs. Curtis B. Harrison (above), hard-working chairman of a committee that preserved the good name of the Cupertino, Calif., Sanitary District, was named Cupertino's "Man of the Year." Mrs. Harrison, 32, lives with her husband and daughter, in Monta Vista, near Cupertino.

Oil Users Might Try Wood. New Haven, Conn. - A burning unit which may be attached to almost any oil or coal installation for about $60 is jointly offered by the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and The Mason Laboratory of Yale University. Conversion from oil burner to wood is described as "fairly simple." The first step is taken by A.R. Olson, Research Technician at the station. He cold chisels his way into sealed-up fire box of oil burner.
